Emergency Support Function (ESF)
The primary mechanism at the operational level to organize and provide assistance. Emergency Support Functions align categories of resources and provide strategic objectives for their use. ESF are standardized resource management concepts such as typing, inventorying, and tracking to facilitate the dispatch, deployment, and recovery of resources, before, during, and after an incident.

DEMHS Region 2 Regional ESFs are different as identified in the National Response Framework, and The Connecticut State Response Framework. The Regional Planning Team determines the lines of effort and agencies that best support planning for and responding to Regional Incidents.
