The Torrent

The Torrent newsletter logo

The Torrent newsletter is written for Connecticut's floodplain managers to foster a better understanding of floodplain management issues. It is a resource for educational, professional and networking information on floodplain management issues. Those local officials involved with administering the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP), such as town planners, zoning enforcement officers, building officials and engineers, are the target audience of the newsletter.

The Torrent is produced by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, Bureau of Water Protection and Land Reuse, Land and Water Resources Division, under a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). It has been published since 1993.
