Donations - State Parks Centennial Celebration
Please consider helping commemorate the one hundredth birthday of our state parks by making a donation.

State Park Centennial Events are funded through private donations rather than taxpayer funds. Centennial Statewide Birthday Parties $40,000 for the entire event
Sand Castle Sculpture, Prizes and Entertainment        $25,000
Birthday Party Refreshments  $15,000

Statewide Birthday Parties will be held during the summer of 2014. The birthday parties, including refreshments at multiple state parks, will be free to the park goers and will include volunteer recruitment opportunities.  Additionally, sand-sculpture building demonstrations will be scheduled along with amateur sand-sculpture contests.

Centennial T-Shirts $25,000

T-shirts with the Centennial logo on the front and sponsor logo on the back, 4,000 shirts.  These will be given to sponsors, volunteers and distributed at the major Centennial events.

Centennial Sponsor Booklets  $20,000

Event program for statewide Centennial events.  Will contain all the sponsors, Nature Lover through Centennial Champion, and be distributed at the Centennial events. 
Celebration Finale:  The Sky’s the Limit $15,000
Concluding the year-long celebration will be an event that will propel Connecticut State Parks into the next century. The event, The Sky’s the Limit, is planned to include hot air balloons, kite flying and demonstrations, model airplanes, astronomy events, bird walks and much more!
Commemorative Book $6,000
128 page book, 1,000 copies. This commemorative book will feature the 100 years of Connecticut State Park history including the creation, the philosophy and the growth of the parks through vintage photography and text. The book will be given to sponsors, legislators, town and state libraries, friends of state parks and others. The commemorative book will also be available for download on the Centennial website. It will contain sponsor logo(s).
Centennial Bandana $ 5,000
2,500, 22” x 22“, solid bandana with color print.  To be distributed to the public at Centennial events.
How can you volunteer to support Connecticut State Parks?
  • Take 100 scenic photos and donate them to CT State Parks Division
  • Donate 100 hours, or even better, 100 days of volunteer service to a CT State Park
  • Invite 100 friends to volunteer at a State Park
  • Find and recycle 100 cans and bottles littering our State Parks
  • Get 100 friends to download the CT State Parks App

  • Purchase 100 State Park Season Passes and donate to an organization to encourage families to go outdoors

  • Donate equipment, and a vehicle for transporting crews from site to site, for 100 CT Conservation Corps members
  • Share the CT State Park’s webpage with 100 friends
