Monday Update on State Parks Impacted by Last Week’s Storm

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) State Parks Division over the weekend continued work to clear the damage at the four state parks impacted by last Tuesday’s storm. DEEP announced that Squantz Pond State Park has reopened as of today. Sleeping Giant and Wharton Brook will remain closed through the holiday weekend, no timeline has been set on when those two parks will reopen. A determination will be made by the end of Tuesday as to the status of Kettletown State Park for the Memorial Day weekend.
Additional patrols by the DEEP Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon) will continue to enforce the closures of Sleeping Giant, Wharton Brook and Kettletown.
