Name of Deceased Person taken from Waters of Stamford Harbor Released

The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEEP) Environmental Conservation (EnCon) Police have identified the man who was pronounced dead early Sunday morning after being taken from the waters of Stamford Harbor.
He is Jose Diaz, 51, of Harrison, N.Y.
Diaz was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital.  He had last been seen on the rear swim platform of a 38-foot cabin cruiser that was nearing the docks in Stamford Harbor.  He was reported missing to local Stamford authorities by other passengers at around 11 p.m.
Stamford Fire responded, found the man In the water, and began administering CPR.  He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
EnCon Police are investigating this incident.  No other details are available at this point.
