The Health Information Technology (HIT) Division oversees the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for DMHAS. Through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process, the State contracted with FEi Systems to host and provide a system called Web Infrastructure for Treatment Systems (WITS).  The WITS system is specifically designed for mental health and substance abuse services.  DMHAS implemented this system in August 2014 at all of its State-Operated Inpatient and Outpatient facilities.

Representatives from the Office of the Commissioner and from all State-Operated facilities participated in a Kaizen event to kick off a LEAN process to review clinical assessments. Through this process, new forms were developed to standardize the outpatient admission process. These forms are currently being piloted. The facilities are looking at workflows and working on standardizing and streamlining processes and forms in order to best serve our clients.
The WITS Help Desk is available to users to contact the team with any questions or issues that may arise. The helpdesk can be contacted by emailing: MHA-DMHAS-EHRProject@ct.gov or calling 860-262-6090.
