Connecticut State Troopers Arrest 12th Suspect as Fugitive from Justice in NYPD Homicide Investigation

Southbury, CT. (July 9, 2018): Connecticut State Troopers stopped and detained the 12th suspect in the New York Police Department (NYPD) investigation into the homicide of 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz.

On July 9, 2018 at approximately 2:36 p.m., troopers from Troop A-Southbury were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on I-84 eastbound in the Danbury area when a trooper’s License Plate Reader (LPR) signaled that a passing motor vehicle was wanted in connection to a homicide in New York City.

Several Connecticut State Police Troopers and Western District Major Crime Detectives stopped the suspect vehicle on I-84 eastbound near exit 13 in Southbury.

The operator was identified by his New York driver’s license as Luis A. Cabrarasantos (dob 6/26/93) of  732 Soundview Ave., Bronx, NY. Troopers contacted NYPD detectives who relayed that Cabrarasantos was wanted in connection to the homicide of Guzman-Feliz and was considered the 12th suspect.

Cabrarasantos was transported to Troop A-Southbury and detained until NYPD detectives arrived to continue the homicide investigation and interview Cabrarasantos.

As the result of an extraditable Arrest Warrant (Murder 2 and other violent felonies) issued by the New York court system, Connecticut State Troopers arrested Cabrarasantos and charged him with Fugitive from Justice.

Cabrarasantos was held on a $1,000,000.00 bond and transported to New Haven Correction Center where he is being held pending a court appearance at Waterbury Superior Court before transfer to NYPD and extradition back to New York.
