State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit assist

Hampton Fire Marshal with Residential Fire Investigation


 

Hampton, CT. (October 26, 2017): Connecticut State Police detectives are assisting the Hampton Fire Marshal with a residential fire investigation.

On October 26, 2017 at approximately 4:30 a.m., troopers from Troop D-Danielson assisted the Hampton Fire Department and Hampton Fire Marshal at 33 Eleventh Section Rd, Hampton for a residential structure fire.

After the fire was extinguished human remains were recovered from inside the residence. Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit (FEIU) detectives and Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime detectives also responded to the scene and are assisting the Hampton Fire Marshal with the investigation.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine positive identify of the victim, and cause and manner of death.

This fire remains under investigation.
