State Police Detectives Investigate Griswold Residential Fire

   Griswold, CT (December 20, 2017): Connecticut State Police Detectives from the Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit (FEIU) and Eastern District Major Crime (EDMC) are investigating a fatal house fire in Griswold.

   On December 20, 2017 at approximately 5:15 a.m., troopers from Troop E-Montville and the Griswold Volunteer Fire Department responded to 70 Kenwood Estates in Griswold for a fully-involved house fire. One person was located deceased in the residence with at least one person still accounted for.  

   State Police detectives from the Connecticut State Police FEIU and EDMC have responded to the scene and will assist with the investigation.

    Also, this morning Connecticut State Police detectives from the State Police FEIU were requested by the Glastonbury Police Department to assist with the investigation of a no injury, abandoned car fire at 40 Nanel Drive, the Glastonbury Luxury Apartments in Glastonbury. Through the course of the initial investigation State Police detectives found that the vehicle is associated with the house fire in
Griswold.

     State Police detectives continue to investigate both fires.
