State Troopers Investigate Two Fatal Pedestrian Crashes, Seek Additional Information
FATAL CAR VS PEDESTRIAN CRASH #1:
    On December 22, 2016 at approximately 5:33 p.m. troopers from Troop I- Bethany responded to a
motor vehicle vs pedestrian crash on Route 8 South in the area of exit 27 in Naugatuck. 
    Upon arrival a male pedestrian was found to have been struck by a motor vehicle traveling on the northbound side of Route 8.  After the initial impact, the pedestrian was thrown onto the southbound side of Route 8 where he was struck by a second vehicle traveling on Route 8 South. 
    The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The operators of the vehicles were not injured.

               FATAL CAR VS PEDESTRIAN CRASH #2:

    On December 22, 2016 at approximately 5:33 p.m. troopers from Troop A - Southbury responded to a motor vehicle vs pedestrian crash on I-84 East in the area of exit 7 in Danbury.
    Upon arrival troopers learned that a vehicle struck a female pedestrian in the left lane, and evaded the scene.  A witness followed the evading vehicle off exit 8 aiding in troopers making a quick apprehension. 
    The female pedestrian was transported to Danbury Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
    The vehicle operator, Roger Leblanc, was not injured.  LeBlanc was taken into custody and charged with Operating Under the Influence, Evading Responsibility, and Manslaughter 2nd with a Motor Vehicle.
