State Police Detectives Investigate Burglary at Connecticut State Police Firearms Training Unit


Simsbury, CT. (August 23, 2016):  State Police Detectives from Central District Major Crime are investigating a burglary at the Connecticut State Police Firearms Training Unit in Simsbury, CT.

On August 22, 2016 at approximately 8:20 a.m. Central District Major Crime detectives initiated a burglary investigation at the CSP Firearms Training Unit located at 100 Nod Road, Simsbury. Through the course of the investigation it was determined that forced entry was made through the second floor office door. 

A burglar alarm was activated during the evening hours on August 19, 2016 which resulted in the Simsbury Police Department responding to the scene.  Upon checking the door it appeared locked and Simsbury PD cleared the scene.  

On August 22, 2016 at approximately 7:00 a.m., troopers assigned to the Firearms Training Unit entered the office and found a storage case containing eleven simunition (non-lethal) firearms – Sig Sauer P220, and eleven simunition magazines missing.
