Quality of Life Task Force Makes Arrest following Extradition

Danielson, CT. (June 30, 2016): Troopers from the Troop D-Danielson Quality of Life Task Force (QLTF) arrested a Killingly man after three outstanding arrest warrants were served following extradition from Rhode Island.

Over the past several months, troopers from the Troop D Quality of Life Task Force began a firearms and narcotics investigation into Joshua Bazinet who is a convicted felon.

Through the course of the investigation QLTF Troopers seized a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun and heroin pre-packaged for sale that belonged to Bazinet. Upon the conclusion of the investigation Troopers applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Bazinet by the superior court.  The arrest warrant also authorized extradition for all New England states.

On March 28, 2016 the Foster Rhode Island Police Department arrested Joshua Bazinet subsequent to a traffic stop where nearly 300 bags of heroin and 11 weapons were seized.  Bazinet was held without bail in the Rhode Island Department of Corrections.

On 06/28/2016, Bazinet had a bail review hearing in Rhode Island and was issued bail.  Bazinet was able to pay the bail but was held in Rhode Island pending extradition to Connecticut.

On 06/30/2016 Bazinet waived extradition and members of the Troop D QLTF traveled to the Kent County District Court in Warwick, Rhode Island and took Bazinet into custody.  Bazinet was transported  back to Troop D where he was fingerprinted and photographed, and held on bond pending his court date.
