               TROOPERS ARREST ESCAPED FEDERAL PRISONER

   Today 12/23/11, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Secret Service provided information that a subject wanted on a Federal Escape Warrant, identified as Troy Eugene Stafford DOB 08/06/1969, was believed to be located at the Connecticut Service Plaza on Interstate 95 Southbound in Darien.

   Inmate Stafford had walked away from a halfway house in Marion, Illinois, where he was serving his sentence. 

   Troopers and Darien Police Officers immediately responded to the rest area. Troopers located the suspicious suspect who matched the description of the escapee.

   Further investigation revealed that the male subject was in fact the escapee Troy Eugene Stafford DOB 08/06/1969.

   The accused was taken in custody and  transported to Troop G in Bridgpeort. The accused is being held to be turned over to U.S. Marshals.
