Southbury Fire Determined To Be Arson

The fire that destroyed the Southbury Commons Building located on Main Street in Southbury, Ct. on February 18, 2011 has been ruled an arson.

Troopers assigned to the Office of State Fire Marshal working with the Southbury Fire Marshal have conducted an extensive investigation into the cause and origin of this fire. 

Evidence was located and collected by investigators.  This evidence was analyzed at the State Forensic Laboratory has provided significant information and leads for investigators in this case.

This fire investigation has been assigned to State Police Western District Major Crime Detectives.   Investigators will pursue the leads and information that have been developed in this case. Troopers assigned to the Fire Marshal’s Office will assist in this investigation.
