                    STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE INFANT DEATH

Today, 04/15/10, State Police received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive infant at a private residence located at 826 Hartford Pike in Dayville, Ct.  Troopers, EMS and Fire Service responded to the scene and the 20-month-old infant was transported to Day Kimble Hospital where, upon arrival, the infant was pronounced dead.

The scene was secured by responding Troopers.  State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad detectives responded to the scene to initiate the investigation into this infant’s death.  Preliminary information determined that the child was being cared for in the residence when it was reported the child stopped breathing.

The Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner will conduct a post mortem examination of the deceased to determine the manner and cause of death. The identification of the child is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.
