STATE POLICE ARREST SALISBURY MAN

On 01/29/10, at approximately 9:42 pm,  Troopers from the Connecticut State Police Troop B  were notified of a burglary alarm at the “Litchfield Bancorp” located at 326 Main Street in Salisbury.  Troopers were dispatched to the scene and upon their arrival they observed a broken window at the rear of the building.  Observed inside the bank was a lone white male walking within the premise. 

Troopers gained entry into the building and immediately confronted the male and took him into custody.   He was in possession of a loaded revolver.    

A search of the male later identified as Elmore Torn (06.06.31) of 25 Farnum Rd, Salisbury, CT.  Torn was transported to Troop B, processed for numerous criminal charges and subsequently held on a $100,000 bond with a court date of 2-1-10 at GA 18, Bantam Superior Court.

He was charged with the following charges:

Burglary 1st Degree (53a-101)

Criminal mischief 3rd Degree (53a-117)

Carry a firearm while intoxicated (53-206d)

Trespassing 1st Degree (53a-107)

Possession of Firearm without a Permit (29-35)
