Connecticut State Police Accident/Enforcement Statistics

   During this holiday weekend the Connecticut State Police experiencedheavier than normal weekend traffic. The State Police utilized aircraft, unmarked patrol vehicles and additional manpower to increase the public safety to the highways and secondary roads of our state.

   For the purposes of reporting the statistics for this Labor Day holiday weekend the “weekend” began on Friday 09/03/2010 at 12:01 A.M. thru Monday 09/06/2010 at 11:59 P.M.

   As of the writing of this release (see the date and time above) the enforcement action that has taken place:

·      1,940  speeding

·        283   seat belt violations

·      3,440  other  violations

·          72   driving while under the influence

Motor vehicle accidents that have occurred:

·        265  total accidents

·          53  with injury

·            2 fatalities
