STATE TROOPERS ARREST DRIVER & SEIZE MARIJUANA FROM VEHICLE

   On 11/28/09, during the evening hours, State Troopers were conducting a seatbelt enforcement operation on Route 6 near Route 66 in Windham.  Troopers observed the accused driving a vehicle that failed to stop for a red traffic light. 

   A State Trooper stopped the violator and determined that the driver did not have a valid driver's license.  Additional investigation caused this Trooper to locate two large trash bags full of marijuana in the motor vehicle. The marijuana was seized and was determined to weigh about 40 pounds. 

   The driver was taken into custody and transported to Troop K in Colchester where he is being held on bond.

CHARGES:  Possession of Marijuana

                  Possession Of Marijuana over 1 kilo

                  Operating MV without Operator's license

                  Fail to Obey Red light

Accused is being held on $200,000 bond to appear in Superior Court on Monday 11/30/09.
