                        STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE BOMB THREAT

                                   AT MANCHESTER SUPERIOR COURT

   Today, 01/23/09, the Superior Court GA #12 in Manchester received a telephoned bomb threat at the court house.  The threat was reported to State Police, who responded to the facility, alongwith local fire department personnel. The presiding judge ordered the building to be evacuated.  All prisoners, visitors, and employees were evacuated from the building without incident.

   State Police and judicial marshals secured the facility. State Police Emergency Services K-9 Troopers with explosive detection dogs conducted a search of the entire court facility. No explosives were found.

   State Police Major Crime Detectives also responded to the court to initiate a criminal investigation into this threatening incident.  Detectives are pursuing leads in this case.  Troopers are asking anyone who has information regarding this threat to contact State Police at (860) 534-1000.

   The investigation is continuing.
