          STATE POLICE COMPUTER CRIMES UNIT

MAKES ARREST RESULT OF COMPUTER CRIME CASE

Arrested:      Jeffrey Valente   DOB 01/20/1961    W/M

                          16 ½ Maple Street Darien, CT

Charges:        One count of Criminal Attempt at Impairing the Morals of a Minor 

 One count of Criminal Attempt at Enticement of a Minor 

 One count of Criminal Attempt at Sexual Assault 4th

                       

    On February 25, 2009 the Connecticut State Police concluded an investigation of the accused who while on line communicated with an undercover Trooper posing as a minor.

    This investigation determined that the accused used sexually graphic online conversations with what he perceived was minors on the Internet, when in fact it was an undercover Trooper.

    Facts and information was developed in this investigation resulted in a search & seizure warrant being obtained by State Police Detectives from Superior Court to search the accused residence located on 16 ½ Maple Street in Darien and at his place of employment.

    During the execution of the warrant several computer related items were seized. These items will be examined by the State Police Computer Crimes Unit is pending.

    During the execution of the search & seizure warrant at the accused residence the accused  was taken into custody. He was transported to State Police Troop G in Bridgeport where he was processed and released on a $20,000 bond. The accused will appear at Stamford Superior court GA #1 on March 11, 2009 at 09:00 AM.
