               STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE DISCOVERY OF DECEASED MALE

Today 06/18/09 shortly after 10:15 a.m. an employee of Mass Mutual reported to their security officers that there appeared to be a person in a culvert on the property.  Mass Mutual Security Officers responded to the culvert located near 100 Bright Meadow Blvd. in Enfield. The security Officers located a deceased male in a culvert.

State Police Troop-H in Hartford responded to this incident. Connecticut State Troopers were immediately secured the scene as a crime scene.  State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to the scene to conduct this investigation.

State Police Detectives have made a preliminary identification of the deceased. He is a white male approximately 5’5” 160 lbs.  The deceased is in a state of decomposition and will require a positive identification to be made by State Police. The tentative identity of the deceased will be withheld until a positive ID has been made and next of kin has been notified.

The deceased was transported to the Office of The Chief States Medical Examiner where a post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the manner and cause of death.  The positive identification will be confirmed at that time.

The investigation into this untimely death is continuing.
