UPDATE ON BANK ROBBERIES- PUTNAM, CT

on July 25, 2006 and August 19, 2006

ARREST MADE

On October 9, 2008 Detectives from the Connecticut State Police Eastern District Major Crime Squad took into custody Mr. Rafal Orlowski DOB: 06/20/1982 of 1A Pearl Street Webster, Ma. from the State of Massachusetts Cedar Junction Prison - Walpole, Ma. through the Interstate Compact between states  on Detainers. Orlowski was transported back to the State of Connecticut as a wanted person for his participation in two Putnam Connecticut Bank robberies that took place in the summer of 2006.  He is implicated in the robbery of the People’s Bank located inside Stop N. Shop 60 Providence Pike Putnam, Ct. on July 25, 2006, and the robbery of  WESTBANK 7 Providence Pike Putnam, Ct. on August 19, 2006.

    Orlowski is currently serving a sentence in Massachusetts for similar crimes.

Major Crime Detectives arrested Orlowski in Killingly, Ct. at 10:00 am on the two outstanding arrest warrants.

charges:    Robbery 2nd Degree ( 2 counts),

                             Conspiracy to Commit Robbery 2nd Degree 

Larceny 3rd Degree.

He was processed and held at Troop D on a total of $200000.00 Cash Bond pending arraignment in Danielson Superior Court on Friday October 10, 2008.

A weapon was implied in both robberies but none shown. No one was injured in these incidents. State Police expect to make more arrests regarding these robberies.
