08/20/08      STATE POLICE STATEWIDE NARCOTICS TASK FORCE ARREST

               TWO IN NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION

On 08/19/08 State Police SNTF executed a search and seizure warrant at a private home located at 20 Oakland Ave. Unit 4-C in Danbury.

State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force Investigators initiated an extensive undercover narcotics investigation into narcotics trafficking in the Danbury/Waterbury area. As a result of information developed in this criminal investigation, narcotics detectives submitted a search and seizure warrant to Superior Court.  The warrant was issued by the court and SNTF Detectives assisted by Danbury Police conducted a search of the Danbury residence.   As a result of the search, SNTF narcotics detectives seized approximately 40 pounds of Marijuana from the residence. In addition two people were taken into custody from the residence. Both were transported to State Police Troop-A in Southbury where they were processed and held on bond.

ARRESTED : #1 THOMAS, Edward  DOB 11/2/78

                      669 Waterville St. Waterbury, Ct.

                      Held on $250,000 bond to appear GA#3 Danbury on 08/20/08

            #2   BARKER, Sabrina   DOB:4/7/78

                   330 Bishop St.   Waterbury , Ct.

                   BARKER was released after posting $50,000 bond to appear 

                   at GA#3 Danbury on 09/08/08

Both accused were charged with the following charges;

CHARGES: Conspiracy to Possess over 1 Kilogram of Marijuana

              Conspiracy to possess over 1 Kilogram of Marijuana w/intent to sell

              Possession of Marijuana within 1500 feet of school

              Possession of Marijuana with intent to sell within 1500 feet of school.

       BARKER ALSO WAS CHARGED WITH INTERFERING WITH POLICE   

The investigation is continuing.
