                                STATE POLICE MAKE NARCOTICS ARREST
   Today 04/04/08 the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force, while conducting an undercover narcotics operation, seized a significant amount of heroin from an accused in Hartford

   State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force Detectives initiated a narcotics investigation into the trafficking of heroin in the greater Hartford and Litchfield County areas.  During this criminal investigation, SNTF Detectives developed information which led them to a commercial parking lot on Flatbush Avenue in Hartford.

   At approximately 1:30 p.m., the accused (ECHENVARRIA) attempted to make a narcotics delivery to an undercover Statewide Narcotics Task Force Detective. As the delivery was proceeding, additional Detectives from the Narcotics Task Force intercepted the delivery and took the suspect into custody.

   During this investigation at the scene, SNTF Detectives seized 4,000 bags of heroin packaged for street sale with an estimated street value of $80,000.

   The accused was processed at State Police Troop H in Hartford. He is being held on $500,000 bond to appear in Superior Court in Hartford on Monday 04/07/08.
