STATE POLICE MAKE ARRESTE IN ARSON FIRES IN ELLINGTON

On Thursday 10-02-08, at 2:00 pm, State Police Detectives assigned to the Eastern District Major Crime Squad arrested Konrad Klein (DOB: 01-05-1981), of 116 Cambridge Street, West Hartford for Arson in the Third Degree and two counts of Reckless Burning.

Konrad’s arrest stems from lengthy criminal investigations conducted by State Police Detectives from the Eastern District Major Crime Squad from Troop C in Tolland and fire officials from Ellington.  The investigation led to Konrad who later admitted to setting the fires.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Konrad for his involvement in setting three separate fires at the Stonebridge Apartments located at 159 Pinney Street, Ellington.  The first fire was on 07-19-08 to a trash can in small building which housed a cluster of mailboxes for Stonebridge Apartments.  The second fire on 07-21-08 was set to a pile of phone books, located in the same small building. The third fire on 08-08-08 was set to a dumpster that was located on the property of Stonebridge Apartments.

Konrad was taken to Troop C – Tolland where he was held, processed and subsequently released on $5000, $5000, and $25000 cash bonds.  He was given a court date of 10-15-08 in GA 19 Rockville Superior Court.
