STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY/CARJACKING

     On 09-28-08, at approximately 6:18 p.m., State Police at Troop C in Tolland received  a call from a 20-year-old female who stated that she was the victim of an attempted carjacking that took place in the front ofWalden Apartments at 70 Pinney Hill Road, Willington, CT.

     State Troopers responded and determined that the female victim was sitting in her vehicle reading her mail at the apartment centralized cluster mailbox location, when a white male with a handgun attempted to gain access to her vehicle.  The victim was able to push the suspect from the vehicle and the suspect fled on foot.  There were no injuries during this incident.

     State Troopers conducted a search of the area utilizing a K-9, along with additional State Police manpower.

     The male suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’9” -5’11” tall and thin build, 130-150 lbs, light skin and brown eyes.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black canvas vest and a black knit mask which covered his nose and lower face.

    State Police Major Crime detectives have been assigned to conduct the criminal investigation into this incident.
