                                                   STATE POLICE INVESITGATE

                                            UNTIMELY DEATH

Today 02/21/07 shortly after 1:00 p.m. Connecticut State Police Troop-L received a telephone report of an unresponsive male in a pick-up truck that was parked on the ramp of Rt.8 northbound exit #39 in Thomaston. State Troopers and EMS personnel responded to the scene.  A male subject was located in the passenger seat and was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

State Police Troopers secured the scene and Western District Major Crime Detectives responded to the scene to conduct the investigation into this death.

Initial examination of the scene by State Police determined a male subject was seated in the pickup in the reclined passenger seat of the vehicle. State Police Detectives did not locate any outward signs of violence but are continuing the investigation                          

A tentative identification of the male subject has been established but is being withheld at this time pending notification of next of kin.

The Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner will conduct a post mortem examination of the deceased to establish a manner and cause of death.

The case remains under investigation.
