      STATE POLICE MAKE ARREST IN THREE BANK ROBBERIES

   State Police Major Crime Detectives have continued the investigation into several bank robberies that took place in eastern Connecticut.  State Police Detectives arrested this accused for bank robbery and attempted bank robbery on May 15, 2007 after he was apprehended in East Lyme area.   

   State Police Major Crime Detectives pursued information leads and evidence in three robberies that took place on 11/15/06 in Chester, On 03/06/07 in Essex, and on 04/03/07 in Essex. Detectives as a result of evidence and information developed in these cases submitted an arrest warrant to Superior Court in Middletown for the arrest of the accused in this case.

   The accused was brought to Superior court from the Dept of Corrections facility and he was formally arrested by State Police at Superior Court in Middletown.  He was processed and held on $300,000 bond for arraignment at GA #9, Middletown.

ACCUSED:   BUCKINGHAM,  Kenneth   DOB: 1/11/63

CHARGES:    Robbery 1st  (3 cts)

                 Larceny 1st     (3CTS)       

                 Threatening  2nd    (3CTS)

                 Criminal possession of a Firearm (3 cts)

                 Criminal Possession use of firearm during a Felony(3cts)

The accused will be arraigned today (6/20/07) in Superior Court Middletown on these charges.
