STATE POLICE INVESTIGATE ARMED ROBBERY IN MONTVILLE

   At 10:00 a.m. on 05/07/07 State Police Troop-E and the Montville Resident State Troopers Office responded to a report of an armed robbery of a female that took place as the female victim exited her home on Sunny Hill Drive in Montville. 

   Upon arrival State Police Troopers located the female victim who was suffering from an obvious head injury. The female victim stated she was exiting her residence when she was struck from behind by the suspect.  The victim further stated the suspect took a small amount of money from her.

   Local EMS responded to the scene and the female was transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment for the head wound she suffered during this incident. State Troopers secured the crime scene and conducted interviews of witnesses who provided additional information regarding this incident. Investigators believed that the suspect was on foot in the area.

   State Police K-9 teams, airplane, helicopter and additional manpower responded to the scene to search for the suspect.  The search did locate a suspect vehicle in the Shantok Heights Apartments in Montville, Ct.  In addition Investigators located physical and forensic evidence.

   Information regarding the suspect was developed and the areas of Fort Shantok Park.  The area was searched by State Police personnel. While this search was ongoing the schools in the area were locked down with Troopers assigned to each for safety and security reasons.

   The suspect is described as a black male mid 20’s  approx 6’ thin build wearing a black hoody shirt, blue jeans, wearing a due rag and baseball.  A weapon was used in the assault.

   State Police Detectives are continuing this investigation.
