                    STATE POLICE CHARGE MAN WITH LOAN SHARKING

   On Tuesday September 11, 2007,Connecticut State Troopers from the Statewide Organized Crime Investigative Task Force on an arrest warrant arrested the accused Leonard Wishart DOB: 03/23/1944, for Extortionate Extension of Credit (Loan Sharking) CGS 53-390 and Loans at Greater Rate Than Twelve Percent Prohibited CGS 37-4.

   Wishart was taken into custody without i8ncident and was processed at State Police Troop I, Bethany. Wishart is being held on a court set $1,000,000 bond. He will appear at GA #7, Meriden on Wednesday September 12, 2007

ACCUSED:  Leonard Wishart

DOB:         03/23/1944

ADDRESS:  2020 Hartford Turnpike

                North Haven, CT. 

CHARGES:  Extortionate Credit Transactions CGS 53-390 and Loan at Greater

               Rate than Twelve Percent prohibited CGS 37-4.

COURT:     GA #7, Meriden, September 12, 2007

   No additional arrests are anticipated in this investigation.
