State Police New Haven Initiative Task Force Investigation

Leads to Large Drug/Weapons/Vehicle Seizure

And 3 Arrests in Woodbridge

Recently a member of the Milford Police Department was able to provide information to the State Troopers, State Police Detectives and New Haven Police Officers working on the New Haven Initiative Task Force that brought an investigation out of the City of New Haven and into the Town of Woodbridge CT.  With this information members of the State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force (which is made up of State Troopers and Municipal Police Officers) worked with members of the Woodbridge Police Department to develop further information and intelligence. Through this investigation it was determined that there was a possibility of a large amount of drugs being transported into a location in the Town of Woodbridge. The Woodbridge Police Department working with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force set up surveillance on the residential property of 244 Peck Hill Road, Woodbridge.

During the evening of May 17th, 2007 a large Recreational Motor Home towing a Chevrolet Avalanche was observed going onto the property under surveillance. A Search Warrant was obtained from the court. Upon the execution of that warrant a large amount of marijuana was seized from that recreational vehicle and from a garage on that property. In addition to the marijuana a large amount of cash, firearms, drug paraphernalia, and other illegal drugs were located and seized in either the vehicle or on the property. Based on the criminal enterprise of the transportation of this large amount of drugs several vehicles were also seized by the police.

Items seized:    588 lbs. of marijuana (estimated value of $1.8 million dollars)

                          $102,040 in cash

                            1.7 grams of cocaine  

                            13.8 grams of mushrooms  

                            various items of drug paraphernalia  

                            3 handguns and 1 shotgun  

                            a new custom Class A Coach Motor Home  

                            a Chevrolet Avalanche  

                            a pick up truck  

                            3 Harley Davidson Motorcycles
