                                 BANK ROBBERY IN MARLBOROUGH

At approximately 3:13 p.m., a 911 call reported a bank robbery at the Bank of America located at 17 E. Hampton Road (Route 66) in Marlborough, CT.

Initial investigation has revealed that a lone male dressed in mostly black or dark clothing and wearing a black motorcycle helmet and black and red gloves entered the bank and displayed a handgun during the course of this robbery.

After obtaining money from the bank employees, the perpetrator was seen fleeing the area on a blue motorcycle (last seen heading east on Route 66).

There were no injuries at the scene of this crime.

State Troopers responded to the area as all surrounding local police departments were notified of this incident and the descriptions of the perpetrator and vehicle.

There have been similar incidents Connecticut recently which have also involved a white van or box truck reportedly used to transport the motorcycle after the robbery. This information was also broadcasted to surrounding police agencies.

State Police Major Crime Detectives responded to the scene to assume this investigation.
