                                             STATE POLICE SEEK ASSISTANCE

                              CAR vs TWO BICYLCIST EVADING ACCIDENT

On June 29th at about 11:00 p.m. two men were riding bicycles traveling south on Rt. 1 in Westbrook toward the Clinton Town line when a southbound car struck both bike riders.  The car failed to stop and fled from the crash scene.  Both bicycle riders were injured, taken to local hospitals and are still recovering from their injuries.

State Police Troop-F investigators conducted the investigation into this crash. State Police Major Crime Detectives and State Police accident reconstruction specialists assisted in the investigation. Investigators interviewed witnesses and collected and processed evidence from the accident scene.

Physical evidence recovered at the scene was analysis by State Police Investigators.  It has been determined that the evading car is:                   

                                       -dark in color (maybe black)

                                                 -with minor damage to the right side.

                                                 -the right side mirror is missing

                                                 -may be a Honda early to mid 90’s

State Police are looking for assistance in this case. Police are asking anyone who may have been in the Rt. #1 area on June 29 about 11:00 p.m., may have seen anything or anyone who has any knowledge or information regarding of this accident is asked to call State Police at 860 399-2100.
