UPDATE

“OPERATION PARK CITY”

At the direction of Governor M. Jodi Rell the Connecticut State Police working with numerous State and Federal agencies initiated the “Urban Violence Reduction” Operation.

On 03/28/06 at approximately 5:00 a.m. numerous Local, State and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies began an operation in Fairfield County.  Each of the police agencies involved contributed manpower to this operation.  Law Enforcement Teams were formed and these teams blanketed the cities and towns in the greater Bridgeport area in an effort to serve outstanding warrants and take all of the accused into custody for crimes committed in Fairfield county.

The following Law Enforcement Agencies all provided manpower and took part in this large operation: Bridgeport State’s Attorney Office,  Bridgeport Police,  Stratford Police,  Fairfield Police, Trumbull Police,  Westport Police,  Shelton Police,  Milford Police, New Canaan Police, DEA,  FBI,  Dept. of Corrections, Judicial Marshals, I.C.E, U.S. Marshals Office, Dept of Probation, Dept. of Parole and the Connecticut State Police.

This Operation “OPERATION PARK CITY” was designed to apprehend people who were wanted on outstanding arrest warrants. In addition it enabled Law Enforcement Officers to gather intelligence information regarding crimes of violence presently under investigation in the Fairfield County area.  Each person arrested was transported to State Police Troop- G in Bridgeport where they were processed. The accused were then transported to Superior Court for arraignment.

This operation has been determined to be a success as of 11:00 a.m. over 100 warrants have been served.  Some charges on the outstanding warrants were for Failure to Appear, Narcotics, Reckless Endangerment, and Assault.  This combined arrest effort should help to enhance the quality of life in the cities and towns in Fairfield County.

On 03/29/06, shortly after 4:00 in the early morning hours, “OPERATION PARK CITY II”  was launched to continue the service of outstanding arrest warrants in Fairfield County. The operation extended to surrounding cities and towns. The end result was a total of 177 arrests warrants were served. A majority of those people arrested were presented in Superior Court.  Law Enforcement has deemed this operation to be successful.
