                   ARMED ROBBERY FATAL POLICE SHOOTING

The State Police Western District Major Crime Squad is continuing the investigation into the shooting incident on I-95 in New Haven 03/14/06 that occurred shortly after 9:20 p.m.  The New Haven State’s Attorneys Office is assisting State Police Detectives in this investigation. State Police Detectives interviewed numerous eyewitnesses at the scene.  The crime scene was examined and documented by State Police Major Crime Detectives.

The State Trooper wounded in this gun battle is identified as Trooper First Class Daniel Sivori a 10-year veteran of the State Police Department. 

The second Officer wounded in this gun battle is Police Officer is identified as East Haven Police Officer David Cari a 5-year veteran of East Haven P.D.

Both officers are listed in satisfactory condition at Yale New Haven Hospital. 

The Office of the Chief State’s Medical Examiner conducted a post mortem examination of the deceased male suspect.  The cause of death was determined to be gunshot wounds.  Detectives have identified the deceased suspect as CHRISTOPHER MORRO  365 Mather St. Hamden, CT  DOB:4/10/75.
