                                 STATE POLICE STATEWIDE NARCOTICS TASK FORCE

                   SEIZE OVER $15 MILLION DOLLARS OF HEROIN AND MAKE NARCOTICS ARREST

During the late evening hours on 11/13/06 the State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force working with the New Milford Police department executed a search and seizure warrant resulting in the seizure of 18 kilos of pure heroin.

Statewide Narcotics Task Force is a team of investigators with detectives from both the State Police and Local Police who work together to conduct narcotics investigations all across the State of Connecticut.

The Statewide Narcotics Task Force West was conducting a narcotics investigation in the greater New Milford area when Detectives developed information pursuant to this case.  SNTF Detectives submitted a search and seizure warrant application to Superior Court and were granted a search warrant for a private residence located at 813 Candlewood Lake Road in New Milford.

During the evening hours of 11/13/06 SNTF Detectives assisted by New Milford Police Officers conducted a search of the private residence located at 813 Candlewood Lake Rd.  SNTF Detectives and the New Milford Officers located and seized 18 Kilos of pure Heroin at the residence. The heroin was found secreted in trailer hitches located at the residence.

SNTF Investigators seized the Heroin with an estimated street value of over $15 million Dollars. Also seized during this search were narcotics packaging materials, scales, and a currency counting machine. SNTF Detectives took one person into custody at the scene.

CHARGES:   Possession of narcotics over ½ oz.

                         Possession of narcotics with intent to sell over ½ oz

                        Conspiracy to Distribute Narcotics.

                        Operating a Drug Factory

                      Possession of narcotics Paraphernalia.

The accused was processed at State Police Troop-A Southbury and is being held on $2 million Dollar bond to be arraigned at Superior court GA#18 in Bantam today 11/13/06
