Gov. Malloy Statement on Trump Administration’s Decision to Limit Access to Women’s Healthcare Providers
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement regarding the Trump administration’s announcement that they will allow states to block women’s healthcare providers from receiving Medicaid funding:
“Another day, another disgraceful attack on women’s rights from the Trump administration. In Connecticut, Planned Parenthood provides tens of thousands of women and families access to quality healthcare – from cancer screenings, to wellness check-ups, to family planning services – and often for the most vulnerable among us. In short, Planned Parenthood saves lives, despite the Republican Party’s endless quest to undermine and attack it.
“To be clear, an attack on Planned Parenthood is an attack on healthcare access, which is typical for this president and his party. My administration will continue to stand up for women’s health services and support Planned Parenthood.”
