Gov. Malloy Signs Order Updating Management of State Information Technology Project Policies as Required by Statute
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has signed an executive order updating the management of state information technology project policies as required by a state statute that was adopted with the goal of ensuring the state has a series of comprehensive standards and planning guidelines in place that makes certain these outcomes are delivered on time and within budget.
Connecticut General Statutes Section 4d-8a requires that the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) develop and implement an integrated set of policies governing the use of information and telecommunications systems for state agencies and also develop a series of comprehensive standards and planning guidelines pertaining to the development, acquisition, implementation, oversight, and management of information and telecommunications systems for state agencies.
The new policy was issued today by OPM and supersedes Governor M. Jodi Rell’s Executive Order No. 19, which was adopted in 2008. Because that executive order is now outdated, Governor Malloy has signed Executive Order No. 61, repealing Governor Rell’s Executive Order No. 19 and implementing OPM’s new information technology procurement policy as required by state statute.
