Gov. Malloy Statement on the Passing of Board of Pardons and Paroles Member Jeff Hoffman
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement regarding the passing of Board of Pardons and Paroles member Jeff L. Hoffman:
“Jeff dedicated his career to improving public safety for the people of Connecticut, including twenty years of service as a police officer with the New Haven Police Department. His passing is a terrible loss for the Board of Pardons and Paroles. I extend my deepest condolences to his friends and family, his colleagues on the board, and those he served with on the NHPD.”
Governor Malloy appointed Hoffman to the board in February 2016. Prior to his appointment, Hoffman served for twenty years in the New Haven Police Department, retiring at the rank of captain. During his career, he served as a patrol officer and field training officer, sergeant, lieutenant, and captain. He supervised a street crime unit, served as a community policing district manager, commander of the narcotics unit, and as commander of the patrol division.- Twitter: @GovMalloyOffice
