Gov. Malloy Statement on Reported Rollback of Clean Energy Sweeps
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement on the reported rollback of sweeps impacting the Connecticut Green Bank, Clean Energy Fund Program and the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund:
“Democrats and Republicans share a belief that sweeping funds designated for the Connecticut Green Bank, the Clean Energy Fund, and the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund are tantamount to a tax on the backs of ratepayers. I remain committed to our ratepayers and to protecting these funds that reduce energy costs while reducing our dependency on fossil fuels. Tonight's comments from legislative leaders that the debilitating sweeps of these funds are under reconsideration is welcome news. While we await details of the final numbers, we strongly hope that much of the damage these cuts would have caused will be avoided.”
