Gov. Malloy Applauds Recognition of State’s New Online Regulations System and Lean Efficiency Protocols

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy is applauding the announcement made by Harvard University’s Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at the John F. Kennedy School of Government that the State of Connecticut is receiving two Bright Idea awards as part of its 2017 Innovations in American Government competition.

The two awards include honors for Connecticut’s new eRegulations System, which Governor Malloy initiated in 2012 and made all state agency regulations available for the first time ever over the internet in an easily accessible format for the public. The other recognition is for Connecticut’s LeanCT program and IT Capital Investment Program, which are making state agencies more cost-effective and efficient while improving delivery of services to residents.

“Just as businesses and families must adapt to changing times, so should government. I am glad that these protocols that we are executing have shown positive results for the people of Connecticut, and it is my hope that we can continue this progress as we work toward the goal of making our government work better, faster, and smarter,” Governor Malloy said.

The state’s eRegulations website can be located at eregulations.ct.gov. It allows users to easily search the state’s regulations using common text searching or advanced Boolean searching, and also allows for search filtering to find information faster. It also makes proposed regulations available to the public and provides real-time access to their approval process. After the Governor proposed legislation to create the system, it launched in July 2013.

The LeanCT program also launched in 2013 and has been utilized in every state agency.
