Gov. Malloy Signs Order Updating Deadlines of the Certificate of Need Taskforce
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has signed an executive order updating the timeline by which the previously established Certificate of Need Taskforce is scheduled to submit its final report of recommendations.
Under Executive Order No. 51A, which the Governor signed today, the Certificate of Need Taskforce will now be responsible for submitting its final report of recommendations no later than January 15, 2017. Previously, the group had been required to submit the report by December 1, 2016. In addition, the updated executive order extends the moratorium on certificate of need applications by the state from January 15, 2017 until June 30, 2017 so that enough time is provided for a fair and thorough evaluation of the certificate of need process, and gives the Department of Public Health more flexibility with respect to determinations on pending applications.
The Certificate of Need Taskforce was created by the Governor in February through Executive Order No. 51.
