Gov. Malloy Statement on the Passing of Justice David Borden

(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today released the following statement regarding the passing of former Connecticut Supreme Court Justice David M. Borden:

"Justice Borden dedicated his career to ensuring that the State of Connecticut has a strong, effective, and fair judicial system that serves the people of our state, and his work will forever have a lasting impact. He served as a principal architect in the 1960s in drafting Connecticut's penal code, and following a major reorganization of our state's court system he became one of the original judges to serve on Connecticut's Appellate Court. Even in retirement, he remained active, energetic, and influential because he was so dedicated to the people he served.

"A modest man, Justice Borden will always be known for his passion and respect for the people of Connecticut, and he will always be remembered by the many judges who sought to emulate him. My deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and colleagues in the judicial branch."
