Gov. Malloy: Special Election for State Representative in Waterbury to be Held April 26
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a special election to fill a vacancy in the State House of Representatives serving the 75th Assembly District, which covers a portion of Waterbury, will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.
The seat became vacant on March 9 following the resignation of Victor Cuevas.
Under state law, following a vacancy in the General Assembly, the Governor is required to issue a Writ of Special Election, upon which a special election must be held exactly 46 days after its issuance. The Governor is filing the writ today.
