Gov. Malloy Recognizes Office of Higher Education Executive Director Jane Ciarleglio for Dedicated Service to the State
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy released the following statement on the departure of Office of Higher Education (OHE) Executive Director Jane A. Ciarleglio, thanking her for years of dedicated public service to the state. Having served as the head of the state's higher education office since 2011, Ciarleglio announced that she will be retiring effective April 1.
"Jane has dedicated her career to public service, and has shown an unrelenting passion towards helping students in Connecticut graduate with a high-quality degree," Governor Malloy said. "I wish her the best in her retirement and know that we will miss the enthusiasm and dedication she has brought to our state."
Ciarleglio is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University. She joined the Department of Higher Education in 1995 as a legislative liaison, then Associate Commissioner, and then Deputy Commissioner. She also previously served in the administrations of Governor William O'Neill and with the City of New Haven under then-Mayor John Daniels.
During the interim, Keith Norton, the current Chief Financial Officer of OHE, will serve as Acting Executive Director.
