Monday: Gov. Malloy Participates in UConn's Downtown Hartford Campus Groundbreaking; Speaks on Second Chance Initiatives at Events in Hartford and Danbury

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will participate in the groundbreaking and flag raising ceremony for UConn's new campus in downtown Hartford.  The campus will be anchored at the former Hartford Times building and will open for classes in fall 2017 with about 2,300 students and 250 faculty members.

At noon, Governor Malloy will join clergy and community leaders for a neighborhood walk in Hartford to discuss the impact that the state's criminal justice laws have on the community and the importance of adopting his "Second Chance Society" proposals.

Following that, Governor Malloy will hold a news conference in Danbury at a substance abuse treatment center to discuss the impact that his "Second Chance Society" initiatives will have on the lives of those coping with addiction.  Joining him will be staff and patients from the facility.
