Tuesday: Gov. Malloy Attends Archbishop’s St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast; Chairs Bond Commission Meeting; Attends Business Opening in Stratford; Holds News Conference with Congresswoman Gabrielle Gifford
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Tuesday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will speak at Hartford Archbishop Leonard P. Blair's annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast, which benefits the Foundation for the Advancement of Catholic Schools.Following that, Governor Malloy will chair a meeting of the State Bond Commission, which will be immediately followed by a media availability.
In the afternoon, Governor Malloy will attend the grand opening ceremony for Nuovo Pasta Productions in Stratford. The food production company recently doubled the amount of its workforce from 65 employees to 120 and is expanding into a new facility twice the size of its former complex, allowing it to triple its previous level of output and expand its customer base.
Finally, Governor Malloy, joined by Senate President Martin M. Looney, Speaker of the House Brendan Sharkey, and other legislative leaders and domestic violence prevention advocates, will hold a news conference at the State Capitol in Hartford with former Congressman Gabrielle Giffords to discuss gun violence prevention.
