Wednesday: Gov. Malloy Holds Roundtable with Hartford Community Leaders on ‘Second Chance’- Announces Results of Care and Share Drive
(HARTFORD, CT) - On Wednesday afternoon, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a roundtable discussion with community leaders from the City of Hartford to discuss the "
Second Chance Society
" initiatives he announced on Tuesday, which are designed to continue the progress being made in reducing the state's dropping crime rate. Participating will be Mayor Pedro Segarra, representatives from the Hartford Police Department, Department of Correction Commissioner Scott Semple, faith leaders from area churches, state lawmakers, and other community advocates and state officials.
Following that, Governor Malloy will participate in a news conference to announce the results of the annual Governor's Care and Share Food Drive, the state employee fundraiser to fight hunger in Connecticut. The drive benefits Connecticut Food Bank and Foodshare.
