GOV. MALLOY'S GENERAL COUNSEL LUKE BRONIN TO LEAVE AT END OF FIRST TERM
(HARTFORD, CT) - Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he has been informed by Luke Bronin, who serves as his General Counsel, that he intends to leave the position on January 7, 2015.
"Luke has been one of my closest advisors, and I have relied heavily on his counsel on a daily basis and on a broad range of issues, legal and non-legal," Governor Malloy said. "He has played a central role in designing and fighting for policies to protect our environment, to end veterans homelessness, to reform our criminal justice system, and improve economic opportunities in urban communities, among many others. And he has helped me to identify and nominate some of the most diverse and talented classes of judicial appointees in Connecticut's history."
"It has been a tremendous honor and privilege to serve as Governor Malloy's General Counsel for the past two years," Bronin said. "As I leave this job that I love, my heart remains in public service."
Bronin began the position as the Governor's counsel in January 2013. Governor Malloy is scheduled to be sworn into his second term in office on January 7, 2015. He will select a new General Counsel in the coming weeks.
