MONDAY: GOV. MALLOY MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT ON EFFORTS TO ELIMINATE HOMELESSNESS AMONG VETERANS; SPEAKS AT CIVIL RIGHTS CONFERENCE

(HARTFORD, CT) - On Monday morning, Governor Dannel P. Malloy will hold a news conference in Hartford to make an announcement regarding the next steps in his efforts to eliminate chronic homelessness among veterans in Connecticut. Earlier this year, the Governor announced a goal of eliminating chronic veteran homelessness by the end of 2015. He will be joined at the announcement by Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, state Housing Commissioner Evonne Klein, and groups of veterans and housing advocates.

In the evening, Governor Malloy will make welcoming remarks at the University of Hartford's "Empowering Change" panel discussion commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
